The band eventually gained the attention of American audiences with the single Dog Days Are Over, which peaked at number 21 on Billboard's Hot 100 charts.

Dog Days Are Over was received with glowing reviews by critics. ContactMusic.com reviewer Pete Barrett gave it a 9/10 and praised it as a brilliant release. He described it as a tour-de-force of the folk, pop, and rock genres that revealed a “beguiling talent.” To top it all off, British music magazine NME included the song in its list of 150 best tracks of the past 15 years, listing it at the 33rd spot.
